Family Scripture Study

We try to read the scriptures every night as a family. Besides our forming good family habits and traditions of scripture study it often feels that our children get very little, if anything, out of it. We have been wanting to invest in the easy readers but have never seemed to get around to it. Recently Stewart discovered that the church has them on-line. Each chapter is like a little movie that shows the pictures and reads the brief descriptions. My kids love them. It has become our new way of doing scripture study. We try to make it interactive throughout the movie by pointing things out to the kids, at the end of the movie talk about what we watched, and then close our study with a very simple testimony of the main point. I really think they are getting more from it this way. When they are older we will surly switch it up but for now we love it and wanted to share our new discovery with those of you out there that likewise have toddlers calling most the shots in your home. Here is a link to the Scripture Stories. We hope some of you can at least have a fun FHE with it or something. :)

Thanks Emily! We've been using the book to read with Maggie, but I had no idea this was online. At our stake conference last month one of the speakers said "if you can't get your kids to spend 10 minutes studying the scriptures with you, you might be going for 8 minutes too long. It opened my eyes to how you can alter scripture study for your family's needs.

Yeah, we have the vhs videos, but since our VCR isn't plugged in we've been using the online version.
